Hey guys! What's new? As some of you know, the last couple of months I've been working on my recent cosplay draft of Satsuki Momoi from Kuroko no Basuke. (Granted, being extremely busy it felt more like just a handful of days within the span of two months.) In the end I didn't get on time to completely finished the cosplay for summer Otafest 2015 the way I wanted to, but there's going to be another convention during the winter where I'd be able to perfect it better. But otherwise I had a total blast! With my younger brother in tow cosplaying as a casual Aomine.
This is the first cosplay where I ever decided to try to use my white porcelain theater makeup to make my skin look more appropriate for the character. I ended up mixing it with my regular foundation, while using an already white tinted makeup primer. Excuse the lighting as my washroom has about the worst sets of lights ever. You can't really see the red contacts, but they're quite awesomely red.
This is a bit of a yearly tradition for us to just geek out and have fun and celebrate everything, well Japanese. Went to a maid cafe which was hilarious, I might have to join that group just for kicks one day. The song and dance number was adorable, and the food was great.
There was a whole lot to do and a lot of pictures were taken, a great set of cosplays were found that I'll post in 'Part Two'. A sketch drive going on for charity towards Nepal so I let one of the artists draw me in an imagined Fire Emblem assassin design.
We then rocked out to one of my favorite indie JROCK bands; UCHUSENTAI:NOIZ. They're an amazing alternative rock, visual kei band with truly big hearts. The band has been quietly helping indigent Filipino communities for years, even sponsoring scholarships for students from grade school to college level. Two years ago, the band members were among the first international celebrities to come to the aid of Yolanda victims, holding a concert in Japan to raise funds for them.
Being able to see them in person was the biggest highlight for me, I was glazing starry eyed and shouting till I had a sore throat for the rest of the day. Best thing of all was that the lead singer, Angel Taka hugged me! *___* Waaahh, doki doki suru~ Mind you Kotaru, the guitarist (the one with blue hair), also gave me a hug and that was fabulous because his hug was like a firm handshake mixed with a massage. Very much like my aunt who hugs you into a tight squeeze than starts massaging your back at the same time that its hard not to pull away. Except he smelt manly as hell, which was awesome. Can I just say, Asian Men revitalize? Because oh my goodness they do! Also got a signed shirt. <3 Photo's are courtesy of myself and my brother who happens to be a photographer.
Some of their music:
Why I Adore Taka <3: A lot of this reminds me of back home in Indonesia, my uncle owns an orphanage (many of which at the time were the children displaced by the 2007 tsunami) and it's always so revealing to see the state of other peoples. I want to be able to help even more, to some extent someday in those countries.

In terms of the items I got, I mostly got prints as my collection still needs to be filled out and last year I bought one too many body pillows. Well I bought one for my sisters birthday but ended up having to keep it for myself anyways since she was too shy once she saw it. (Maybe my mind did that on purpose I dunno, but now I have a body sized pillow of an anime human stuck in my closet every time I decide to change. It's weird.) But I did get a Soul Caliber Artbook which is a success.
My favorite piece that I instantly fell in love with! Trafalgar Law and Chopper from One Piece, just chillin in a library. Must be reading medical books together. Definitely hanging this one on my wall.
Archer and Rin from Fate Stay Night! Please people, watch the show or play the games. The series is very interesting and unique in it's own way. Personally I actually don't like most of the characters but Rin and Archer make up for it a ton, in my opinion.
And who doesn't love Chrom. <3 King Protector of the Weeaboo Nation.
Assassinita, Mary Ann or simply Nita for short is your average Canadian lady incognito who loves hockey, traveling and a good laugh. She speaks English and Bahasa, alongside parts of Arabic, French and Sundanese. Her weakness is coffee and electric blankets. She tries to be as honest and true as possible, even during the tough minutes when the world is against you.
