Assassinita's Favorite Videogame Music

It's been a while since I've participated in LiT's weekly blog themes and I figured this one would be the easiest to think up in terms of a list. Music itself basically builds onto the core experience of a game as well as expresses in its own form what can't be said. I excluded some pieces just to add more variation but most of these pieces are tracks that I already have on my music player or have physical copies of.

Assassin's Creed: Access the Animus

Aside from Fighter Games, Assassins Creed (as well as Fire Emblem) were some of my first experiences diving into the videogaming world. I instantly fell in love with the ominous, dark, subtly electronic sound of this piece that basically describes the original Assassin's Creed feel in its entirety. The ambiance is haunting.

Assassin's Creed: Ezio's Family

Nothing quite lives to the heightened affection I have for a piece as much as this one. It's powerful, heartbreaking with a sense of yearning all at once. The vocal is piercing and I always get goosebumps and shivers when listening to this in the dark silence of my own room in the middle of the night. Also makes me cry from time to time. Will always be the best piece in the series.

Kingdom Hearts: Dearly Beloved

Another just as powerful piece that remains extremely close to my heart. It makes me completely and utterly sad yet unexplainably happy at the same time. Absolutely beautiful and breathtaking.

Contrast: Main Theme - Kat's Song

Immediately fell in love with this jazzy piece though the whole soundtrack itself has it's own signature that makes it perfect. The imagery of just sitting in a bar by your lonesome watching a sultry woman sing always comes to mind.

The Wolf Among Us: The Big Bad Wolf

The full soundtrack is atmospheric and has a sense of foreboding I love. It's all dreary, dark yet smooth in it's own way. The Big Bad Wolf happens to be my favorite piece of the batch that are all very toned to key.

Persona 3: Brand New Days

Typically people point out the energetic, electronic beat of the Persona series but as much as I adore those vibes as well, 'Brand New Days' struck a chord with me filled with memories and nostalgia.

The King of Fighters XIII: Wild Hunt

Probably my most played videogame piece in my music player to date. I have an affinity for it because it's always in my workout session or played during the beginning of my day, ready to take on the world. Positive Kickass Vibrations.

Final Fantasy X: Otherworld

I've actually never played Final Fantasy X. I was linked to this by RJaimes one day and it's been stuck in my top ten list ever since. It's awesome, plain and simple.

Red Dead Redemption: Born Unto Trouble

The echo, the lonely atmosphere, the whistling of a man standing alone - the epitome of the Wild West. Just you, yourself and the universe, mayhaps you'll come upon someone but there's nothing but a barren, deserted landscape...if only for a moment.

Mortal Kombat X: Main Theme

A brilliant upset to the lack of interesting soundbites in Mortal Kombat 9, X's theme is delicious in its tremor and it's imperial resonance. The full soundtrack itself is an excellent center stage for what makes MK what it is.

Mary Ann or simply Nita for short is your average Canadian lady incognito who loves hockey, traveling and a good laugh. Her weakness is coffee and electric blankets. She also happens to be a secular, agnostic, utilitarian, rationalist, reductionist, humanist with various cultural/religious influences'. Thank you for reading that mouthful, bruh.
